DescriptionTragopan Static Rain-cover M description

Tragopan Static Rain-cover M. The Static Rain Cover provides full rain protection for your gear and is designed to be used with tripod mounted lenses. The cover attaches firmly to the front of the lens hood with a Velcro band. On the other end, a stretchable silicone eye-cup fits snugly around most viewfinders. The silicon eye-cup can also be trimmed to size if the eyepiece of your camera is too large.

FAST ACCESS TO THE CAMERA AND LENS

The lower part of the cover is held in place by several magnets and 3 Velcro straps that allow quick hand access to the camera and lens. The back of the cover has a large transparent window that allows you to see the rear screen of your camera as well as the various control buttons. A lens shield is also included and can be added to provide further protection for your lens front element. The Static Rain Cover comes with a handy storage pouch.

DESIGNED TO USE WITH SMALL TELEPHOTO LENSES OR TELEZOOMS

This rain cover has been designed for use with small telephoto lenses or telezooms (300mm f/4 / 400mm f/5.6, 200-600mm, 150-600mm, 100-400, etc.). It is meant to be used with a tripod. It is attached to the front of the lens hood with velcro and to the back with a silicone eyecup that fits around the viewfinder of your camera. The silicone eyecup has been modified for this new version and is very easy to install on the viewfinder of the camera body. It is compatible with the eyecups of the various brands of camera bodies available on the market. The lower part of the cover is held in place by several magnets and 3 velcro straps that form the opening for your hands. The back of the cover has a large transparent plastic window that allows you to see the back screen of your camera as well as the various control buttons. This rain-cover features a cap that attaches to the front of the lens hood, preventing water drops from entering the hood and splashing onto the front lens. It can also be useful for certain backlight conditions, to reduce optical flair. It comes with a handy storage pouch for when you need to put the wet cover back in your camera bag.

1. How to protect your camera from rain and is special protective equipment necessary?

Protecting your camera from rain is important because water can damage the internal components of the equipment. Special protective gear, such as a rain cover or waterproof case, can be useful in extreme weather conditions. These protections can shield your camera from direct rain exposure and help prevent potential damage. It’s important to store your camera in a dry place when not in use. Regardless of the protection used, it is recommended to regularly maintain and clean your camera, especially if it has been used in the rain or in humid conditions, to avoid corrosion and loss of durability.

2. What are the best tools to protect the lens from rain when shooting outdoors?

The best tools to protect the lens from rain are special lens covers or umbrellas. Lens covers are made of flexible, water-resistant material. These covers shield the lens but still allow free shooting. Umbrellas provide protection against raindrops. To protect the lens from rain while shooting outdoors, it’s best to use special lens covers. Waterproof protections, such as silicone covers, allow you to protect the lens from rain while still providing easy use of the camera. Additionally, you can use special sprays that help repel water from the lens surface. This ensures that even in rainy weather, you can create high-quality photos without risking damage to expensive photography equipment.
