Distancinio valdymo pultelio mygtukas turi visas funkcijas kaip ir fotoaparato užrakto paleidimo klavišas ir netgi dar daugiau. Valdymo mygtukas turi tris padėtis: 1. nuspaudžiamas iki pusės - aktyvuojamas automatinis ryškumo suvedimas ir automatinis ekspozicijos parametrų nustatymas. 2. nuspaudžiamas iki galo - aktyvuojamas fotoaparato užraktas. 3. fiksuojamas pilnai nuspaustoje padėtyje (pastumiant į priekį) - ilgiems išlaikymams (Bulb). Dažniausiai naudojamas makro fotografijoje, astro fotografijoje, naktinės fotografijos situacijose ir kitos situacijos, kai fotografuojant labai svarbu nesujudinti fotoaparato spaudžiant užrakto paleidimo mygtuką.
