Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55 is a professional large-format cinema camera designed for high-end feature, commercial and professional video production. At its core is a 43.8 × 32.9 mm GFX 102MP CMOS II HS sensor with an imaging area approximately 1.7 times larger than conventional 35mm full frame. It combines large-format cinematic rendering with 8K recording, 4:3 Open Gate, F-Log2 C, more than 14 stops of dynamic range, an integrated electronic variable ND filter and professional Apple ProRes recording.
GFX ETERNA 55 is intended for professional cinematographers, production companies, advertising agencies and filmmakers requiring maximum image quality and professional on-set connectivity. Its tall 4:3 sensor is particularly attractive for anamorphic cinematography and productions where large-format depth and tonal rendering are a priority.
Compared with Fujifilm GFX100 II, GFX ETERNA 55 is a dedicated filmmaking platform rather than a photo/video hybrid. It adds cinema-oriented features such as electronic variable ND, 12G-SDI, Genlock, Timecode, V-Mount support, a supplied 5-inch monitor and PL-Mount adapter.
Compared with conventional full-frame cinema cameras, its key differentiator is the substantially larger 43.8 × 32.9 mm sensor and 4:3 Open Gate option, giving cinematographers additional possibilities for large-format and anamorphic work.
Does GFX ETERNA 55 record 8K?
Yes. It records 7680 × 4320 up to 29.97p and 8192 × 4320 DCI 8K up to 24p.
Does it support 4K/60p?
Yes, up to 59.94p in DCI 4K and UHD 4K.
Can PL cinema lenses be used?
Yes. A PL-Mount Adapter is included.
Does it have an internal ND filter?
Yes. The variable electronic ND covers ND0.6–ND2.1, equivalent to 2–7 stops.
Does it support anamorphic lenses?
Yes. It supports anamorphic workflows and real-time de-squeeze monitoring.
