DescriptionHasselblad X2D II 100C description

Hasselblad X2D II 100C - crafted for those who seek brilliance, Hasselblad X2D II 100C delivers true-to-life colour powered by the Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution with High Dynamic Range (HNCS HDR). The new AF-C mode, subject detection and 10-stop stabilisation work together to deliver sharp images with speed and precision—even in challenging conditions. And with Phocus Mobile 2 streamlining your workflow, you can stay fully immersed in your creative process—letting inspiration flow and exceptional images follow naturally.

FOCUS IN AN INSTANT

The new AF-C mode brings reliable continuous autofocus, accurately detecting and tracking moving subjects. In AF-S mode, 425 PDAF zones that spread over the 100-megapixel sensor work with the LiDAR for fast, accurate focusing. A new AF illuminator improves autofocus performance in low light and doubles as a self-timer indicator.

AF-C CONTINUOUS AUTOFOCUS

For the first time on a Hasselblad, X2D II 100C features AF-C continuous autofocus. Powered by deep learning algorithms, it reliably detects and tracks human, vehicles, cats and dogs in various poses during shooting.

NEW FOCUS POINT MODES

Beyond the existing "Spot" mode, X2D II 100C adds "Expand Spot", "Custom" and "Wide" modes. As inspiration flows, master every focal point with ease.

TRUE COLOURS SHINE IN HIGHLIGHT

Experience the first medium format camera with true end-to-end HDR. Your richly detailed HDR images are captured and processed in-camera as HDR HEIF or Ultra HDR JPEG for stunning results, and can be instantly reviewed on the touchscreen with 1400-nit peak brightness, or edited directly on iPhone/iPad with Phocus Mobile 2.

HNCS HDR HIGHLIGHT IMAGES

Building on HNCS, X2D II 100C's HNCS HDR harnesses high dynamic range to elevate Hasselblad's signature natural colours to new heights of brilliance. Even in harsh light, it prevents overexposure more effectively whilst revealing more detail. HDR images captured with X2D II 100C can be viewed directly on the built-in 1400-nit touchscreen or on compatible MacBook Pro models. When SDR photography is preferred, simply switch modes in camera settings.

100-MEGAPIXEL CMOS SENSOR

X2D II 100C's enhanced 100-megapixel medium format BSI CMOS sensor embodies Hasselblad's commitment to uncompromising image quality. With 16-bit colour depth delivering around 281 trillion colours, it captures the subtle gradations that bring photographs to life. The addition of ISO 50 native sensitivity and 15.3 stops of dynamic range provides photographers with precise control—from the deepest shadows to the brightest highlights, every nuance is preserved with exceptional detail.

3.6-INCH OLED TWO-WAY TILT TOUCHSCREEN

The 3.6-inch OLED touchscreen features vivid HDR visuals and up to 1400-nit peak brightness for true-to-life clarity. The versatile screen tilts up 90° and down to approximately 43°, and can be pulled out to stay clear of the viewfinder.

5-AXIS, 10-STOP STABILISATION

Stabilisation performance is now up to 8 times that of X2D 100C when capturing distant subjects. The advanced 5-axis, 10-stop IBIS lets you shoot handheld for several seconds and still capture crisp, clear images. Long exposures to capture flowing traffic or running water are now possible without a tripod.

PHOCUS MOBILE 2

Edit RAW HDR images on your iPhone or iPad —adjust exposure, reduce noise with Hasselblad Natural Noise Reduction (HNNR), and showcase them with the signature Hasselblad natural colour. Even when the camera is powered off, you can wake it up with the app and wirelessly transfer images, without having to take it out or switch it on manually.

1TB INTERNAL SSD

With 1TB of built-in SSD storage, X2D II 100C eliminates the anxiety of running out of space in the course of your creative endeavours. Write speeds of up to 2370MB/s and read speeds of up to 2850MB/s ensure the camera keeps pace with your creativity. When additional storage is needed, the CFexpress Type B slot stands ready.

REFINED APPEARANCE

Crafted with an advanced finishing process, the graphite grey matte coating combines exceptional durability with a refined, subtle texture, with the black lettering adding a final touch of distinction. A newly optimised internal structure reduces weight by 7.5% compared with X2D 100C for effortless handling, while the redesigned grip ensures lasting comfort, even on the longest creative journeys.

5D JOYSTICK AND CUSTOM BUTTONS

A 5D joystick beside the touchscreen allows swift focus point selection and intuitive menu navigation. With two new custom buttons—now totalling eight—personalised control is always at your fingertips.

1. What are the main advantages and features that distinguish medium format cameras?

Medium format cameras stand out due to their larger sensor size compared to DSLR and mirrorless cameras, offering a greater dynamic range and superior image quality, especially in low-light conditions. They capture more detail and produce less noise at higher ISO sensitivity. Additionally, medium format camera lenses are larger, allowing for enhanced control over bokeh effects and creating a distinctive aesthetic. These cameras are commonly used for portraits, landscapes, and professional commercial photography, where quality, detail, and color fidelity are crucial. However, medium format cameras are more expensive, larger, and heavier than other camera formats, making them a choice for photographers seeking the highest quality results.

2. How to choose the right lens for a medium format camera?

Selecting the right lens for a medium format camera is a crucial step in achieving top-quality images, depending on your photography style and needs. Medium format lenses come in various types, including prime, zoom, and wide-angle lenses. Prime lenses with fixed focal lengths are ideal for portraits, as they often deliver high-quality images and excellent bokeh effects, emphasizing the subject against the background. Zoom lenses are suitable for capturing distant subjects, while wide-angle lenses are perfect for landscapes or spacious scenes. Most professional photographers opt for high-quality prime lenses for portraits and fast zoom lenses with low aperture numbers. The latter helps create beautiful background blur (bokeh) and isolate the main subject from the background. Before choosing a lens, assess your needs and what you aim to achieve in specific photography situations to ensure the best results.
