DescriptionFujifilm X-H2S body + VG-XH description

Fujifilm X-H2S body + VG-XH. FUJIFILM X-H2S is a multimedia digital camera that balances exceptional still image and video capabilities with a newly developed X-Trans sensor, enhanced autofocus and subject detection, and impressive 6.2K video recording. Complementing the X System, this camera combines the intuitive design, handling, and image quality that Fujifilm is known for with a new, high-speed approach to video and continuous shooting applications.

X-Trans 5 BSI Sensor

The X-H2S is the first X Series camera to feature a stacked sensor, built around a 26.1MP APS-C X-Trans 5 BSI sensor that delivers faster readout speeds and improved low-light performance compared to previous generations. As an X-Trans sensor, it uses a unique color filter array that naturally reduces moiré and enhances color reproduction. The BSI design helps reduce noise, improve color and clarity, and significantly minimizes rolling shutter and motion distortion, making it ideal for high-speed photo and video capture.

X-Processor 5

Paired with the new sensor is the X-Processor 5, a 64-bit engine that delivers up to 3x faster performance compared to the X-T4 for both video and stills. For video, it enables up to 6.2K recording with high bitrates such as ProRes 422 HQ, or high frame rates like 240 fps in Full HD. For stills, this processing power allows faster shooting speeds—up to 40 fps with the electronic shutter (buffer of 140 uncompressed RAW frames) and up to 15 fps with the mechanical shutter (over 1000 RAW frames). It also enhances AI-driven autofocus, supports up to 14 stops of dynamic range, and offers an ISO range of 160–12,800.

4K 120p and 6.2K 30p Internal Recording

Well-equipped for video, the X-H2S features a robust recording system that firmly places it in the hybrid camera category. It supports internal 4:2:2 10-bit recording in DCI/UHD 4K up to 120p and Full HD up to 240p, as well as a 3:2 open gate 6.2K mode for anamorphic workflows. Multiple codecs are supported, including H.265 and three ProRes options: 422 HQ, 422, and 422 LT. Continuous recording up to 90 minutes is possible at any frame rate and resolution.

External RAW Recording

Using the full-size HDMI port, RAW video can be recorded when paired with a compatible external recorder. Both ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW are supported, along with F-Log and F-Log 2 profiles. All formats support recording up to 6.2K in open gate mode. Autofocus and image stabilization are also enhanced.

Hybrid AF with Deep Learning AI

With improved processing, autofocus is significantly faster and more intelligent. This hybrid AF system uses 425 phase-detection points and is sensitive down to -7 EV for low-light performance. AI-based deep learning enables better subject detection and tracking. Face and eye detection have been improved for greater accuracy, even with glasses, masks, or varying hairstyles. Recognized subjects now include cars, airplanes, trains, motorcycles, birds, horses, dogs, cats, and more.

Connectivity

The camera features a wide range of ports: full-size HDMI Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (data transfer and charging), 3.5mm headphone and microphone jacks, PC Sync for flash, and a 2.5mm remote port. Built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enable wireless image transfer and remote control.

Film Simulation Modes

Film Simulation modes replicate the look and feel of various FUJIFILM films, including Provia, Velvia, Astia, Classic Chrome, Classic Neg., Nostalgic Neg., Pro Neg. Hi, Pro Neg. Std, Eterna, Eterna Bleach Bypass, Acros, Monochrome, and Sepia. Grain effect and color chrome effects can also be adjusted for fine-tuning the final image.

1. Which mirrorless camera should I choose for better photo results?

Choosing the right mirrorless camera for better photo results depends on your individual needs and budget. The Sony Alpha a7 III is a popular choice, offering excellent dynamic range and efficient autofocus. The Canon EOS R6 also boasts high technical performance, including powerful image stabilisation. The Nikon Z6 II is another attractive choice with excellent dynamic range and high ISO sensitivity. It's important to consider the features of each model, the choice of lenses and the ability to suit your shooting style. It is recommended to read reviews and test equipment before buying, if possible.

2. What are the advantages of mirrorless cameras compared to DSLR cameras?

The advantages of mirrorless cameras over DSLR cameras include modern technology and lightness. Mirrorless cameras are more compact and lighter, making them more comfortable to carry. They often have a smaller body because they do not have a mirror system, which reduces the overall weight. The use of an electronic viewfinder allows the actual frame to be seen before the picture is taken, thus optimising composition and exposure. Mirrorless cameras have fast autofocus and some models may perform better in low light conditions. They also offer more creative options, including a range of filters and effects. The new generation of lenses offers improved performance and efficiency, contributing to higher quality photos. However, every photographer's needs are different, so it is important to consider your preferences carefully before choosing a camera.
