DescriptionNikon Z8 body description

The Nikon Z8 is everything you want in a full-frame hybrid camera. Image quality, precision, flexibility and a compact, lightweight body. Don't just create. Thrive!

g

COMPACT BODY

The Nikon Z8 brings the feature set of the Nikon Z9 down to 30% smaller than the Nikon Z9 and 15% smaller than the Nikon D850. 45 MP composite CMOS sensor and impressive dynamic range. Phenomenal deep-learning AF system and subject and eye detection hit rates you can rely on. Non-fogging Real-Live viewfinder and 4-axis tilting monitor. Video, stills or both. You have the freedom to innovate, and the Nikon Z8 reliably anchors every shot.

AMAZING AGILITY FOR VIDEO AND STILL SHOTS

New ideas, tight budgets, quick turnarounds. Small setup or full rig. Wherever you're creating, the Nikon Z8's flexibility keeps your projects flowing. Record stunning 8K or 4K video straight from the camera at a variety of frame rates, including slow motion. Capture outstanding 45.7MP images, even when shooting under the stars. There are separate video and photo display interfaces, and the menu rotates when shooting vertically.

g

AMAZING SPEEDS OF 120 FPS FOR PHOTOGRAPHY

Never miss a decisive moment. You can shoot 11 MP footage at the insanely fast speed of 120 fps or 45.7 MP footage at a breakneck 60 fps or 30 fps. All with full AF and AE performance and without viewfinder blackout.

WITH NIKON Z8 - MORE PORTRAIT CONTROL

Save time on your recording by making changes as you shoot. Portrait Impression Balance lets you fine-tune hue and sharpness. Skin Softening softens the appearance of skin while eyes and hair stay sharp.

g

PRE-RELEASE CAPTURE

Event photography? The Nikon Z8 increases your reaction time by recording up to a second before shooting. Quick gestures, unpredictable subjects: you'll overcome moments you might have missed.

BACKLIGHTING AND DARKNESS

Night scenes and background portraits? You can rely on the Nikon Z8's intelligent AF system. Faces are in focus, even when the scene is brightly lit. Subject detection and AF works up to ˗9 EV in Starlight mode.

HIGH-RESOLUTION 2X ZOOM FOR 4K VIDEO

Zoom in with zoom lenses while filming! Nikon Z8 can simulate 2x optical zoom in-camera and in real time. There's no image degradation and you can program three different zoom speeds.

12-BIT N-RAW AND PRORES RAW VIDEO

Supports internal 12-bit raw recording up to 8.3K 60p in N-RAW format along with internal ProRES RAW HQ. Raw recording provides greater tonal and colour latitude and can improve dynamic range, leading to improved colour grading needs and post-production flexibility. N-RAW is Nikon's raw recording format that offers impressively small file sizes compared to other raw formats, as well as the ability to create MP4 proxies for more efficient viewing or transfer. N-RAW recording is available up to 8.3K at 60p or 24p; 4.1K at 120p; 5.3K at 60p with 1.5x cropping; and 3.8K at 120p with 2.3x cropping. ProRes RAW recording is also available up to 4.1K and 60p.z

VERTICAL BATTERY HANDLE

You can use the Nikon MB-N12's battery grip for vertical shooting or telephoto lens balancing, as well as for extended all-day shooting. You can extend the battery life by up to 1.8 times with two EN-EL 15c batteries in the grip, and you can hot-swap batteries. You can also use the handle as a dual battery charger when not connected to the camera.

1. Which mirrorless camera should I choose for better photo results?

Choosing the right mirrorless camera for better photo results depends on your individual needs and budget. The Sony Alpha a7 III is a popular choice, offering excellent dynamic range and efficient autofocus. The Canon EOS R6 also boasts high technical performance, including powerful image stabilisation. The Nikon Z6 II is another attractive choice with excellent dynamic range and high ISO sensitivity. It's important to consider the features of each model, the choice of lenses and the ability to suit your shooting style. It is recommended to read reviews and test equipment before buying, if possible.

2. What are the advantages of mirrorless cameras compared to DSLR cameras?

The advantages of mirrorless cameras over DSLR cameras include modern technology and lightness. Mirrorless cameras are more compact and lighter, making them more comfortable to carry. They often have a smaller body because they do not have a mirror system, which reduces the overall weight. The use of an electronic viewfinder allows the actual frame to be seen before the picture is taken, thus optimising composition and exposure. Mirrorless cameras have fast autofocus and some models may perform better in low light conditions. They also offer more creative options, including a range of filters and effects. The new generation of lenses offers improved performance and efficiency, contributing to higher quality photos. However, every photographer's needs are different, so it is important to consider your preferences carefully before choosing a camera.
