DescriptionNikon 8x30E II description

The Nikon 8x30E II is a premium Porro-prism binocular designed for users who value a wide field of view, fine detail and traditional binocular ergonomics. Its 8x magnification provides a stable and detailed view of distant subjects, while the 30 mm objective lenses offer an excellent balance between brightness, portability and comfortable handheld observation. One of the main advantages of this model is its exceptionally wide 8.8° real angular field of view. At a distance of 1,000 metres, the binocular displays an area 154 metres wide, making it easier to locate and follow birds, wildlife, athletes and other moving subjects. Its 63.2° apparent field of view creates a spacious and immersive viewing experience. All lenses and prisms feature multilayer coatings that improve light transmission, image contrast and natural colour reproduction. Nikon Eco-glass containing no lead or arsenic is used in the optical system. The binocular body is made from strong yet lightweight die-cast magnesium alloy. Its central focusing mechanism allows fast and accurate adjustment, while the close focusing distance of 3 metres makes it possible to observe relatively nearby subjects. The Nikon 8x30E II can also be mounted on a tripod by using an optional tripod adapter. This is useful during prolonged observation of a fixed subject, landscape or viewing area.

Who is it for?

These binoculars are ideal for:

birdwatching and wildlife observation;
viewing nature, landscapes and architecture;
sporting events and fast-moving subjects;

users who value an exceptionally wide field of view;
enthusiasts of traditional Porro-prism binoculars and premium optics.

Comparison with alternatives

Compared with conventional 8x30 or 8x32 binoculars, the Nikon 8x30E II stands out with its exceptionally wide 154 m field of view. This is particularly useful for birdwatching, sporting events and following fast-moving subjects.

Compared with Roof-prism binoculars, its Porro-prism construction is wider, but it can provide a natural sense of depth and a spacious image. Compact Roof models are usually easier to carry, although many do not provide such a wide field of view.

Compared with 10x binoculars, the 8x magnification is easier to hold steadily and provides a wider view. A 10x model offers stronger magnification of distant details but normally has a narrower field of view.
