Revolutionary and Stunning
Close-up Capability

The Simera 50mm overcomes the common limitation of a 70cm MFD found in many M-mount 50mm lenses by offering an outstanding minimum focusing distance of only 45cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1: 6.4, allowing for full potential in close-up and intimate photography.

Its built-in floating lens elements provide remarkable resolution when focusing at 0.45 m, comparable to that of similar rangefinder lenses that focus at 0.9 m, resulting in consistently sharp images. The focusing ring is thoughtfully designed with a resistance point at 0.7 m, guiding users to switch to EVF for distances below 0.7 m.

Expressive Bokeh
Distinct Visual

With its fast f/1.4 aperture, the Simera 50mm excels in low-light conditions. The high refractive index multi-layer coatings and high refractive index elements delivers an abundant light transmission of up to T1.5, resulting in bright and vibrant images.

The cine-standard 14-blade aperture creates a round and pleasing bokeh, presenting a gentle focus falloff that evokes a three-dimensional cinematic visual. The click-and-declick aperture ring allows a smooth transition between photography and video modes for limitless creative expression.

Superior Optics
Ultimate Imagery

The Simera 50mm features an 8-element, 6-group optical design, including one aspherical element, one extra-low dispersion (ED) element, and three high-refractive index (HRI) elements. This configuration effectively corrects spherical and chromatic aberrations, delicately rendering skin textures as well as the details of highlights and shadows.

Even at its widest aperture, the image remains exceptionally sharp and clear. The HRI elements correct field curvature, ensuring edge-to-edge sharpness while keeping a compact lens body.

1. How to choose the right lens for a mirrorless camera?

When choosing the right lens for a mirrorless camera, it is important to consider your photography needs and style. First, decide on the resolution and focusing distance you require. For portraits, lenses with a wide aperture, such as a 50mm f/1.8, are often preferred. If you enjoy landscapes, go for a wide-angle lens (e.g., 24mm). To capture distant objects, telephoto lenses (e.g., 70-200mm) are useful. Another important factor is the lens’s light-gathering ability, which affects performance in low-light conditions. A stabilization system can also be important, especially for longer lenses. It’s important to evaluate the build quality of the lens and the manufacturer's reputation. Try out several lenses and consider your future needs to choose the right and long-lasting investment in your photography.

2. Are all lenses compatible with all mirrorless cameras?

Not all lenses are universal for all mirrorless cameras. Different manufacturers may have different mounts, so it is important to check the lens compatibility with your camera. For example, lenses for Canon, Nikon, Sony, and other manufacturers' mirrorless cameras may not be interchangeable without adapters. It is also important to consider the sensor size. APS-C lenses may be disproportionately large for full-frame cameras. Before purchasing a lens, it is advisable to check the manufacturer's compatibility chart and consider the specific requirements of your camera. Adapters can allow the use of third-party lenses, but there may be some loss in functionality or quality.
