ULTRA-HIGH IMAGE QUALITY

The 5th generation X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and X-Processor 5 bring the most advanced imaging technology of all time to the X-Series. Superior image quality The Fujifilm X-T5 features a 40 MP X-Trans 5 HR CMOS sensor in a compact, lightweight body that maximises functionality and portability. The Fujifilm X-T5's advanced image processing algorithm delivers excellent results and is full of detail throughout the natural ISO range.

EXTENSIVE VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES

A dynamic camera with powerful video recording features, movies can be recorded at up to 6.2K 30p in 4:2:2 10-bit colour, and there is also a 4K HQ mode that captures 6.2K footage to achieve excellent 4K output. This higher image resolution unlocks the 2x digital zoom function and adds further versatility to the camera. The X-T5 features five-axis in-body image stabilisation (IBIS).

DESIGNED TO WORK FAST

The Fujifilm X-T5 delivers powerful imaging performance and ensures it's ready for action, no matter how fast your subject moves. With a maximum electronic shutter speed of 1/180,000 sec. and a maximum mechanical shutter speed of 1/8000 sec will stop any subject in its tracks, while a latency of just 35ms gives a near-instantaneous response when the shutter is pressed to release. Hold your finger down and the X-T5 will record images at up to 15 fps with mechanical shutter or 20 fps with electronic shutter.

SUBJECT DETECTION AND AUTOFOCUS

X-Processor 5 features Subject Detection AF developed using Deep-Learning AI technology. In addition to incredible AF tracking and detection of people's faces and eyes, the Fujifilm X-T5 can now also automatically detect and track a wide range of subjects including animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, planes and trains. This allows photographers to focus on composition and creativity.

IMPROVED BODY DESIGN

The large OLED electronic viewfinder has a crisp 3.69m pixel resolution for sharp, clear and detailed images at eye level. In addition, this EVF offers 0.8x magnification for easy image viewing, which further improves suppression of parallax and distortion. A large 3.0-inch 1.62m-dot LCD touchscreen for intuitive operation and playback, while tilt is very useful for high and low angle work. With the NP-W235 battery, up to 680 shots can be recorded on a single charge, and the mechanical shutter guarantees 500,000 clicks for long-lasting accuracy and reliability.

LENS FUJIFILM XF16-50mm F2.8-4.8 R LM WR

Fujifilm says that this lens is improved in three specific ways: its autofocus is designed to be faster than the older lens, the move to an internal zoom design allows it to be classed as weather resistant and it's sharper than the outgoing version, making it a better fit for the 40MP X-series cameras. The new design is made up from eleven elements in nine groups, making it slightly simpler than the existing design but, while it still utilizes three aspherical elements, it makes greater use of extra-low dispersion (ED) glass, with three elements rather than one. The close-focus distance is improved, dropping from 0.4 m to 0.24 m, with maximum reproduction ratio increasing from 0.15x to 0.3x. The 16-50mm has a rubber focus ring, rather than the ridged metal ring used in the 18-55mm. The weight has dropped around 10%, to 240 g. Fujifilm XF16-50mm F2.8-4.8 R LM WR is a standard zoom lens that covers a focal length range from wide-angle 16mm (equivalent to 24mm in 35mm format) to medium telephoto 50mm (equivalent to 76 mm in 35 mm format). It offers high-speed and high precision autofocus, with magnification of 0.3x at the telephoto end (equivalent to magnification of 0.45x in 35mm format). Fujifilm XF16-50mm F2.8-4.8 R LM WR features a weather resistant structure (weather sealing applied to 13 areas of the lens barrel) and is temperature resistant down to -10 degrees Celsius, allowing for versatile use in a wide range of scenes. Adopting a lens configuration of 9 groups and 11 elements, including 3 aspherical lenses and 3 extra-low dispersion (ED) lenses, Fujifilm XF16-50mm F2.8-4.8 R LM WR suppresses chromatic aberration and maintains high-resolution performance throughout the zoom range. In addition to its high-resolution performance, XF16-50mm also has a close-up capability equivalent to roughly half that of macrophotography in 35mm format, making it effective for photographing food, crafts, plants, and various everyday scenes. By optimizing the placement of the lens, XF16-50mm has a weight of approximately 240 grams, making it the lightest zoom lens in the XF lens lineup to date. The constant-length design, in which the lens does not extend during zooming, provides a truly comfortable zoom operation for users.

1. Which mirrorless camera should I choose for better photo results?

Choosing the right mirrorless camera for better photo results depends on your individual needs and budget. The Sony Alpha a7 III is a popular choice, offering excellent dynamic range and efficient autofocus. The Canon EOS R6 also boasts high technical performance, including powerful image stabilisation. The Nikon Z6 II is another attractive choice with excellent dynamic range and high ISO sensitivity. It's important to consider the features of each model, the choice of lenses and the ability to suit your shooting style. It is recommended to read reviews and test equipment before buying, if possible.

2. What are the advantages of mirrorless cameras compared to DSLR cameras?

The advantages of mirrorless cameras over DSLR cameras include modern technology and lightness. Mirrorless cameras are more compact and lighter, making them more comfortable to carry. They often have a smaller body because they do not have a mirror system, which reduces the overall weight. The use of an electronic viewfinder allows the actual frame to be seen before the picture is taken, thus optimising composition and exposure. Mirrorless cameras have fast autofocus and some models may perform better in low light conditions. They also offer more creative options, including a range of filters and effects. The new generation of lenses offers improved performance and efficiency, contributing to higher quality photos. However, every photographer's needs are different, so it is important to consider your preferences carefully before choosing a camera.
